Legends Behind its Name

Picture

There are o many folklores that have been woven in how the Municipality of Panitan got its name. One of these folklores started when a group of farmers was in their usual farm chore taking off the bark of tree when the Spaniards came and inquired for the name of the place. The farmers not understanding the Spanish language thought that the Spaniards were asking what they are doing so they answered “Panitan”. Henceforth, the place was called Panitan.
